Meet Sharing Connexion’s New Operations Director

Sharing Connexion is excited to announce our recent hire and addition to the Sharing Connexion community. Emily Nilsen has been hired as Operations Director.

Emily Nilsen comes to Sharing Connexion with over ten years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Most recently, she served at Housing Colorado, Colorado’s affordable housing association. Emily is dedicated to excellence in the nonprofit sector and is particularly well versed in communications, outreach and development. Her nonprofit service has been geared toward issues facing low-income families, such as housing and access to counseling.

“Affordable housing is an especially pressing issue right now, but safety net services and access to opportunity will always continue to be vitally important regardless of the market. Low-income individuals need stability to access opportunity, and stable housing is the foundation for transforming lives. I am thrilled that Sharing Connexion’s model addresses financing and preservation of affordable housing,”

Emily expressed.

Emily Nilsen also cares deeply about the strength and support of the nonprofit and philanthropic industry, stating, “in order for charities to sustain and grow, there needs to be organizations that come alongside to ensure their long-term viability and provide resources to help them expand their reach. Sharing Connexion is doing this in a really unique way, tackling real estate problems and offering expertise and solutions. This is a necessary service for the nonprofit industry.” Emily is currently working toward her Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from the School of Public Affairs at University of Colorado Denver.

Emily shared,

“I am incredibly excited by Sharing Connexion’s energetic vision and desire to think innovatively about issues affecting the housing and nonprofit sectors. This is a great group with contagious momentum. I am looking forward to expanding our role in the community.”
